The UK Labor party members have been accused of being involved in the Voter registration fraud. This fraud is the submission of false or duplicate voter registration forms which could inflate the number of eligible voters that are meant to vote in a certain constituency. With the rigging, multiple individuals get the opportunity to cast multiple votes. This can result in the tempering of the registration process and in turn, result in fake voting results.
What is voter ID?
In the previous elections held in the UK, the voters did not require any form of identification at polling stations. They could vote in elections without showing their identity. If you wanted to vote on election day, the individual just had to arrive at your local polling station and give your name and address. They were given a ballot paper and the vote was accepted.
That all changed in the upcoming local elections in May 2022. This move to taken due to the multiple incidents of voting registration fraud. Under this new law, individuals will now have to show their identity and confirm it by presenting their photo ID to staff at polling stations. They will not be allowed to vote if they don’t confirm their identity.
Voting Registration Process Questioned in the UK
A Judge delivered a devastating indictment that explained faults in the postal voting system. According to the accusation the judge accused six Labour councilors who were found guilty of electoral fraud. He said that checks against corruption were “hopelessly insecure” and he also accused the Government of being in denial of the incidents that occurred.
A spokesman said: “We do not believe electoral fraud is confined to Birmingham, to the Labour Party or, most importantly, to particular communities. We are not alarmist and do not believe the outcome of, say, the general election is likely to be seriously affected by fraud. But we are concerned that the cases which have come to public attention so far may be only part of a wider problem.”
The Labour Party claimed that it had suspended the six councilors, and would carry out a “vigorous disciplinary process” against them. However, it was all just for a show and nothing changed. Multiple times in the past voting registration frauds have been committed. Fake identities have been casting votes and that changed the voting results entirely. Some individuals all cast multiple votes as they had been paid and some even faked their identities to cast a vote to a certain candidate.
Vote Rigging Done by Voting Registration Frauds
In many instances, evidence of vote-rigging on a massive scale was found during the voting process in the UK. The court also ordered to investigate the electoral fraud but nothing much has changed as the investigation was never done on a serious note.
Six Labour activists, along with two candidates, were captured by the police in a warehouse. They were caught with 275 postal votes with no identity. The candidates were confiscated by officers and submitted to the elections office. However, Labour won a victory in all three seats in Aston.
A handwriting expert also revealed that hundreds of signatures on postal votes in Birmingham were not real and were forged. The Labour supporters were on a duty to stand on the main roads and were seen bribing the passers-by to forge their identity and cast multiple votes. Children were sent to steal papers from letter-boxes and some household members were also convinced to hand over their forms
Hundreds of voting forms were filled at the safe house and the information of the voters on the forms were forged. Ballot papers with fake identities were judged as valid and the original votes were dismissed.
Many genuine voters were turning up to the polling stations where their vote had been allocated by post. On the day of the local elections, some votes were in plastic shopping bags to get counted. One carrier bag was full of votes by people who had no real identity. The results were in the favor of the candidates who had made efforts to rig the votes. Millions of fake registration ideas were made and a lot of votes were cast by post without any identification.
